Hello – I'm Ruth.
I’m a qualified editor and proofreader (Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading professional member) with extensive experience editing websites, newsletters, business books and reports. Previous clients include The Global Alliance for the Future of Food, The British Council, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and Barnardo’s.
I also work for contemporary Shetland knitwear studio Nielanell and I’m co-organiser of Shetland Story Slam.
Previously I’ve managed communications for a digital agency and an arts charity. I’ve managed craft-focused retail, and curated and produced exhibitions, conferences and newsletters.
I've got an MA in Cultural & Critical Theory from the University of Brighton, and a BA in Visual Communication from Edinburgh College of Art. I have a qualification in wine & spirits – which goes nicely with my (separate) training in stand-up comedy and leadership.
I live in Shetland, the most northerly islands in the UK. Which means I love to talk about the weather – and we might be working together remotely.
You can connect with me on LinkedIn, or get in touch directly using the contact form below.
