Hello – I'm Ruth.

I’ve been working with ambitious businesses and cultural organisations since 2009. I’ve worked across communications, operations and project management.

Previously I’ve managed communications for a digital agency and an arts charity. I’ve curated and produced exhibitions, conferences and newsletters.

I’ve worked in award winning restaurants and in retail (selling crafts and wine, unfortunately not at the same time). I understand customers and the importance of exceptional customer experience.

I've got an MA in Cultural & Critical Theory from the University of Brighton, and a BA in Visual Communication from Edinburgh College of Art. I have a qualification in wine & spirits – which goes nicely with my (separate) training in stand-up comedy and leadership.

I live in Shetland, the most northerly islands in the UK. Which means I love to talk about the weather – and we might be working together remotely.

"Ruth has helped me with copywriting and editing for clients including Samaritans, and has played a crucial role in growing my newsletter from zero to 2,000 subscribers. She has a knack for simplifying complex content and finding just the right words. What sets Ruth apart is her straightforward feedback – she cuts through the noise and gives clear, practical advice."
