Hi – I'm Ruth Abigail Oliver.

I've been working as a freelance writer and editor since September 2023.

Previously I’ve managed communications for digital agency Brilliant Noise and arts charity Lighthouse. I’ve curated and produced exhibitions, conferences and newsletters.

I've got an MA in Cultural & Critical Theory and a BA in Visual Communication. I also have a qualification in wine & spirits – which goes nicely with my (separate) training in stand-up comedy and leadership.

I live in Shetland. Which means I love to talk about the weather – and we'll likely be working together remotely.

"Ruth has helped me with copywriting and editing for clients including Samaritans, and has played a crucial role in growing my newsletter from zero to 2,000 subscribers. She has a knack for simplifying complex content and finding just the right words. What sets Ruth apart is her straightforward feedback – she cuts through the noise and gives clear, practical advice.

Ruth is not just a skilled professional but also a pleasure to work with. If you're looking for someone who can make your content shine and bring a fresh perspective to your projects, Ruth is the one to call."
